26.-30.09.16 - Atlanta/GA: Microsoft Ignite 2016
This year the Microsoft Ignite was in Atlanta/GA.
This meant a trip of 8 hours flight with 6 hours time lag has been the first step to go there. Finally, I made it and went directly with DELTA from Düsseldorf to Atlanta. Weather was fine (about 30 degrees celsius) and so the conference could start. About 23,000 attendees had signed in - this meant it would be a very huge event and so it was, the chance to meet somebody by chance was nearly 0% and from one side to the other of the conference center was approx. 3 km walking distance.
With the keynote of Scott Guthrie the show startet, but the highlights have not been presented within his session, most of the announcements have been part of the the detailed sessions. Starting from Azure Stack TP2, Windows Server 2016, System Center 2016 and some other enormous annoucements, the conference was full of new information for everybody.
This was a great experience. But not even the events during the day have been exciting (even though the food was a not very good), the after session events in the evening were great, especially the closing party on the Olympic Park, made the event unforgettable for everybody.
Next year (2017) Microsoft Ignite will take place in Orlando, hope to meet you all there, too.
